(60m) Webinar: Growing Gender-Inclusive Biology
(75 - 90m) Workshop: Adapting for Gender-Inclusion in STEM
Biology educators can offer important examples and tools for communicating about bodies in accurate and inclusive ways by recognizing biodiversity in sex, gender, and behavior. Building on GIB workshops with educators across the US, this session engages participants with signature experiences to inspire their own teaching for all identities. Participants will (1) sample ways to spark conversation, (2) discuss high-leverage language and phenomena, (3) apply gender-inclusive framework to classroom and curricular scenarios, and (4) reflect and share ways to problematize identity-related biology topics.
